Who we are
A professional, personal service.
Why choose us?
Because we understand. We’re an SME ourselves. We understand the need for that human touch in what is often considered to be an automated and impersonal industry . We’re not like that. We’re a friendly and responsive team with a highly professional attitude. We want to do the right thing for our clients while providing that personal touch.
What we can do for you
Our combined experiences in the insurance industry has given us a deep understanding of how insurance products work. We know how to deliver appropriate solutions for SMEs. And we can unpick complex issues and clearly explain how we can solve them for you.
How we work
It’s simple – you contact us, we respond! And with no automated phone systems, you’re straight through to the team. Plus, once you’re a signed-up client or partner, you’ll have a named person to contact every time you call. As soon as we know what your query is, we’re on to it.

Founder & MD
With an insurance career spanning over 20 years in big A-rated insurers, including the RSA and Hiscox, Zahid’s focus was mainly on SMEs. During those years, Zahid dreamt about setting up his own business delivering insurance products and services to SMEs. His dream was to bring all the good aspects learnt along the way and ditch the less customer focused ones seen in some of the bigger corporates. Finally, in 2012, he stopped dreaming and created Custodian Insurance. The name was chosen as it recognises that SMEs, business owners, brokers and partners have confidence in us, recognising that we do what’s right for them.
Zahid is married with three daughters who he loves spending time with, along with his wider family and friends. Sporting hobbies include tennis, running and swimming (especially in the sea). The creative side of him loves reading, music, theatre and appreciates art – sometimes not just appreciating it but actually doing it, too!

Making sure clients and broker partners are well looked after, Andreia started her insurance journey in 2009. Dealing with a wide range of products, her experience was gained in large established insurance organisations. Andreia took some time off to have a family but still found time to become CII Certified. She has a broad understanding of insurance and enjoys solving problems for clients and partners.
As a busy mum of two school-aged children, Andreia likes nothing more than to escape to the woodlands for all the family to burn some energy, get fresh air and climb some trees. Their new favourite hobby is playing laser guns in the woods, which can get a bit too competitive!
